AP US History students ace exam

A big congratulations to Jim Elliot’s Advanced Placement U.S. History students who all passed the AP US History exam with a score of 3 or 4 giving them college credits. Having 100% of the students pass is an amazing feat that few schools can boast.  Dennis Buchmiller who teaches all upper division Social Studies classes at ECHS is an outstanding educator who is able to effectively communicate to his students.

An alumni who took Buchmillers classes had this to say:

“Mr. Buchmiller was a huge blessing to me! I still vividly remember his classes and how he always had good life lessons to teach me. My political stances were vastly enhanced through his class. I came out of JECHS knowing why I stood where I did and how to defend those positions better than most people my age. His economics class was definitely a help, as well. In fact, I recently recommended Elliot as having the best economics class due to the main project he had us complete. The father I was speaking with was quite happy. His children already attend Elliot and he is happy to know that JECHS students have found the upper division classes to be wonderful.”

Jim Elliot Christian currently offers 2 Advanced Placement classes, the US History class & a Calculas Class.  9% of the students at Elliot are enrolled in an AP class (compared with 3-5% of the local public schools)
