Jim Elliot alumni, Lucas Birchard (Class of 2005) is making a name in college basketball as he leads William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA to a 3-0 conference record.  Lucas is the leading scorer averaging 16.3 points per game, the leading blocker (1.4) and second in rebounds (6.6).

He was recently named the California Pacific Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season after scoring 26 points and three assists in an 86-68 victory against Pacific Union College and 21 points, nine rebounds, seven blocks and four assists in an 82-72 win over Bethany University. He also had 22 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in a 77-68 victory over Santa Cruz.
